Well hello!
Hi I'm Cass. My partner Tracy and I started Volleybird. Sort of a crazy journey we put ourselves on. Here we are two perfectly normal adult women that love to have fun. We sort of got caught in the gravitational pull of pickleball. Yep, you probably know the drill. It started with 'just one game' and suddenly Tracy owned seven paddles and a closet full of moisture-wicking gear with almost daily deliveries of "pickleball" sneakers. (I'm not judging, I've got quite the tennis t-shirt collection.)
That's when it hit us - Sport obsession is real. Whether it's perfecting your golf putting at 6 AM before work, analyzing tennis serves in slo-mo video, or explaining pickleball strategy to your completely uninterested best friend - once you're hooked, you're HOOKED.
Tracy saw the big picture and thought, "Why not embrace the addiction? Better yet, why not enable it?" And Cass gave it a bit of thought and realized Tracy was on to something. That's how Volleybird was born - a subscription box service that feeds your athletic fixation with carefully curated gear for tennis, pickleball, padel and golf enthusiasts. These aren't just the same old items you can find everywhere else, these are up and coming brands that are created by people of all walks of life that have vision.
Did we know anything about running an ecommerce platform? About as much as we knew about pickleball when we started - approximately zero. But here's the thing about sports addicts: we're stubborn and we of course want to win. We don't quit when things get tough. We just adjust our grip and keep swinging.
Some days are a challenge, but just like that one perfect shot that keeps you coming back to the court or the course, we're driven by the thrill of delivering that perfect box to fellow amateur sports enthusiasts.
